Exploration is about not knowing. I consider myself an expert on not knowing things. No matter how much I learn, it seems the more time that goes by, the less I know. So all I can do is keep exploring, and that’s what this web site is about: not proposing to know everything and disseminating that vast knowledge, but exploring various subjects with the help of the Agile community, and together seeing what we can come up with.
There don’t seem to be a lot of absolutes in Agile software development. Perhaps that’s because every person is different, therefore every team is different, and something that works marvelously for one team may not work at all for another. However, this is not to say it’s a free-for-all. There are some guideposts - driving principles and things that seem to work fairly universally, and these make for a great starting point. But like everything in Agile, there’s always room for improvement. We inspect and adapt not only our product, but all the processes we use as well. So come exploring with me. Dig around the site and send in your thoughts, ideas, comments, problems, solutions, feedback, etc. The Articles section contains...well...articles, of course, but they’re not in-depth treatments of anything. They’re just brief, hopefully amusing ways to get you thinking about various topics. The Problem Lab is a place for all of us to explore various challenges Agile teams face, what some have tried, and what has worked and has not for various people. Please contribute your problems and solutions - whether they’ve worked or not. What might not work for some may work for others and vice versa. It doesn’t matter what you think you know. It matters what you think you don’t know and what you do to remedy it. - Dave Hab |
